Everything you need to know about Shortways’ native integration in SAP SuccessFactors
A new native integration method
Integrating digital adoption solutions into business applications often raises questions on the IT and HRIS management side, particularly regarding security, compliance, and ease of implementation.
It is precisely with this in mind that Shortways has developed a native integration with SAP SuccessFactors, enabling organisations to embed a Digital Adoption Platform directly within their HRIS environment whilst adhering to the standards of the SAP ecosystem.
This integration is the result of an SAP partner support programme designed to facilitate the integration of third-party solutions within SuccessFactors.
How does it work?
Thanks to a dedicated connector, Shortways can be configured directly from the SAP SuccessFactors Admin Centre. Administrators with the appropriate permissions can access a settings section allowing them to activate an external digital adoption platform.
Clients can select the Shortways integration (“Shortways Integration”) or add us as a supplier directly within the interface via the “Add Supplier” option by entering “Shortways” in the “Supplier ID” field.

A certified integration with multiple benefits
Since the H2-2025 release of SAP SuccessFactors (November 2025), this integration provides an officially SAP-recognised connection. Clients benefit from a certified integration that meets the platform’s technical and security standards.
This native integration also makes it possible to leverage the role management mechanisms built into SuccessFactors directly: Role Based Permissions (RBP), namely the roles, role groups, and user profiles defined within the HRIS.
This automatic retrieval enables help content to be segmented dynamically according to each user’s actual profile.
The Shortways Assistant can then operate across all SAP SuccessFactors screens, including the back office of the LMS module. This is a significant differentiating factor, as this back office relies on a relatively legacy technology with which not all solutions are compatible.
The native integration also allows the solution to be deployed without requiring a browser extension, which simplifies deployment and strengthens the security of the application environment.
The Shortways platform then provides several features to support users directly within their HRIS:
- Guide users step by step through the completion of their tasks,
- Broadcast information via unmissable contextual notifications,
- Answer the most frequently asked questions through an integrated FAQ,
- Or streamline the management and qualification of support requests with Smart Ticketing.
A faster, simpler, and more secure integration
The advancement brought by this native integration considerably simplifies the deployment of the solution.
Previously, integrating Shortways into SAP SuccessFactors relied on adding a script provided to clients after they contacted the publisher.
Organisations can still discover the solution via the SAP Store, but activation within SuccessFactors is now far more straightforward. The integration requires only a few configuration steps within the application’s administrative environment.
This evolution makes deployment faster, simpler, and more secure, whilst ensuring a fully aligned integration within the SAP ecosystem.
